Mikah Meyer y su activismo que enorgullece a la comunidad

Hacer visible un problema no siempre es tan fácil como parece. Para demostrarlo, se hizo viral la noticia de un joven estadounidense que se enorgullece de ondear la bandera LGBT  a todo lugar que visita.

Mikah Meyer es un viajero de 31 años que disfruta de los largod paseos por las montañas, arrecifes, reservas naturales, bosques e inlcuso el desierto.

Para este trotamundos, es importante dar a conocer y poner en alto la bandera de la comunidad homosexual. Esto con el fin de reivindicar la diversidad sexual.

Amor, orgullo y respeto son los valores fundamentales con los que Mikah Meyer despliega su bandera en los lugares que visita desde hace más de dos años.

 

Hmmmm ???? How to do a rainbow flag picture on a very windy beach? ???? !!! Turn the flag into the local menswear, a lavalava ????️‍???? Interestingly, in American Samoa there’s no such thing as LGBT people. It’s not a concept in this culture. However, they do have a 3rd gender called “fa’afafine” (men who present/live as women and are treated as women, but still have male genitalia/are not transgender), and it’s totally accepted and allowed for hetero coupling. But that’s because it’s a man being with a “woman,” not a man and man. And sorry ladies, from what I’m told, being a female to male fa’afafine is not a thing. So in a world of double standards for men & women, ladies still have to deal with it halfway around the world. I hope someday people won’t have to fall into constructs of who they are and who they can love. Maybe we can all celebrate the desire for members of the human race/children of God/collections of atoms to love and care for each other, and find beauty in that connection, no matter who it’s between. Love is what makes the world go round. Love is all you need. Love is love. ❤️
